The “Full Board” coffee house is known for breaking new ground – after all, grandmas provide coffee and cake here. After 105 days of being closed due to corona, a special campaign was come up for the reopening: anyone who locks their mobile phone away during their visit will be rewarded with a 10 percent discount on the bill. On each table is a small cage or box that you can lock. The “grandma on duty” keeps the key.
The promotion will only take place in March for the time being
“We all know how hard it is to put down your phone. But this campaign might create a small incentive to talk to each other again,” says employee Julia in an interview with Radio Vienna. The campaign will initially only take place in March – with an option to extend it. The idea is well received by guests. “It really annoys me when you’re out with a large group of friends and then everyone just stares at their cell phones,” says Tarek in an interview.

The idea came from a grandmother who works in the “full board”. She has repeatedly asked guests to put down their cell phones and start talking to each other. Employee Julia smiles: “You should listen to grandmas, as you know. You have the best ideas.”
