Under the lights of the Vörösmarty Theater, in the framework of a sold-out evening, music lovers gathered to be part of the impressive New Year’s concert of the Alba Regia Symphony Orchestra. Tamás Ruff, the band’s director, greeted the audience with warm words, emphasizing the connecting power of joint celebration and music.
Mayor András Cser-Palkovics emphasized the importance of a common, peaceful start to the year, which this concert also symbolizes. The orchestra’s repertoire was also impressive this time: everything from Viennese classics to American modern pieces was played. Special mention should be made of Dvořák’s Carnival Overture and Bernstein’s Candide Overture, which perfectly reflected the diversity of the concert.
The enthusiastic applause of the audience and the farewell of the artists with three encores proved that the power of music unites us. This concert was not only a musical start of the year, but also a social experience that memorably started the new year in the heart of Székesfehérvár.
