Susanne Wirth lives in a villa in Vienna’s 18th district that was once designed by the architect Oswald Haerdtl. She has given your apartment a very personal touch.
Susanne Wirth has never moved in her life. For 71 years she has lived in the Villa Bablik in Vienna Währing, designed by the renowned Viennese architect, designer and architecture teacher Oswald Haerdtl (1899-1959). Other important works by Haerdtl in the area of residential construction include the Villa Bablik, the Hedy Antal weekend house in Greifenstein and the listed Villa Mierka on the Mönchsberg in Salzburg. The client of the Villa Bablik was Wirth’s grandfather, who had the house built on the huge property for his two daughters in 1949. “But Haerdtl was also my mother’s teacher,” says Wirth, who recently started her own small living room boutique in the center of Vienna. “Today you would say that she studied design with him.”
