In a nighttime altercation in Vienna-Simmering, a 29-year-old was seriously injured with a knife. The alleged perpetrator is the victim’s partner.
A 29-year-old was found with serious stab wounds in a stairwell in Vienna-Simmering on the night of October 7th. Shortly after midnight, the woman sought help from a neighbor and apparently knocked on her door, police reported.
The victim’s partner, who is one year younger than him, is suspected of committing the crime and was arrested. The 28-year-old is said to have rammed a knife into her partner’s back several times during an argument.

“A neighbor found the seriously injured woman on the staircase after she heard a knock on her door,” said police spokesman Markus Dittrich. The professional rescue service was deployed with several teams. After emergency medical care was given to the seriously injured person on the spot, she was taken to a hospital.
A ban on entry and approach as well as a provisional weapons ban were issued against the accused. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office, South Branch, is investigating. Neither the alleged perpetrator nor the victim have been interviewed yet.
