Status as of April 13th
Vienna (OTS/RK) – The Vienna Health Authority and the City of Vienna’s medical crisis team provide regular information on the current number of cases and other key figures on the Covid-19 virus.
As of Thursday, April 13, 2023, 1,410,261 positive tests have been confirmed in Vienna since the beginning of the pandemic. 1,397,993 people have recovered. The number of deaths related to the virus is 4,770. Recently, seven people have died. The federal capital currently has 7,498 active cases.

380 people are currently being treated in hospital in Vienna because of or with COVID-19. These break down as follows:
COVID-19 patients in normal care in a COVID ward: 79
COVID-19 patients in normal care in a post-COVID ward: 176
COVID-19 patients in normal care in a non-COVID ward*: 115
COVID-19 patients in intensive care in a COVID ward: 5
COVID-19 patients in intensive care in a post-COVID ward: 5
COVID-19 patients in intensive care in a non-COVID ward*: 0
* These patients are on the one hand SARS-CoV-2 positive hospital patients whose reason for admission is an underlying disease that was so aggravated by a SARS-CoV-2 infection that hospital treatment became necessary. On the other hand, these are SARS-CoV-2 positive hospital patients whose original reason for admission is not related to COVID-19. These hospital patients also cause increased care and isolation costs due to their SARS-CoV-2 infection.
