Vienna Police Arrest Suspect in €3 Million Fraud Case in Bratislava

A man wanted by Vienna police on a European arrest warrant was arrested in Bratislava. He is suspected of committing fraud worth more than three million euros, the Austrian news agency APA said today, as reported by Nova TV. He had compatible with Bulgarian citizenship.

The extradition procedure for the 43-year-old man is ongoing, the federal police directorate announced. It is believed that since 2022, in his role as managing director of a company, he has bought rental cars, as well as a jacuzzi. This happened in Vienna and in the Austrian province of Burgenland.

After that, the stateless man, in agreement with a 35-year-old Bulgarian man, simply resold the cars that were bought, said Philip Haslinger, a police spokesman.


“The installments on the cars that were bought were not paid,” said Haslinger then five stolen cars were taken abroad, including Rosenheim (Germany) and Moscow according to police investigations, 37 cars were illegally modified.
