The municipal vaccination centers in Vienna will again be open six days a week and additional vaccination appointments will be activated.
There was a waiting time of up to two hours for the corona vaccination on Sunday at the Austria Center (ACV) in Vienna. Due to the high demand for booster vaccinations, the city is now expanding the existing offer: the city vaccination centers will be open again six days a week and new vaccination dates will be activated. Eight days ago, the federal capital released the fourth stitch for everyone aged twelve and over.
The main vaccination route in Vienna is the ACV. The city pointed out on Monday that increased congress activity in the ACV can continue to lead to longer waiting times. Vaccination centers open again six days a week
In the past week, 12,599 people in Vienna got their booster vaccination. In order to process the additional demand with the shortest possible waiting times, the city’s vaccination centers will be open again Monday to Saturday with two vaccination streets per vaccination center, the city announced.
The TownTown vaccination center in Landstraße (Third District) will start next Monday. From July 18th, the vaccination centers Karmelitergasse in Leopoldstadt (second district) and Gasgasse in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus (15th district) will also be open Monday to Saturday. Only in three weeks, on July 25, will the vaccination centers at Schrödingerplatz in Donaustadt (22nd district), Schöpfwerk in Meidling (12th district) and Wassermanngasse in Floridsdorf (21st district) extend their vaccination times. They will then be open from Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00.
More dates unlocked
In addition to the expansion of the physical vaccination offers, further dates will gradually be activated for all vaccination centers. As usual, these can either be made by telephone on the health hotline 1450 or online at impfservice.wien be booked, informed the city.
Viennese are asked to take advantage of the offer. In particular, the basic immunization – i.e. three vaccinations – should be completed. The refresher, i.e. the fourth stitch, can be administered at your own request. This applies above all to the wave of infections in summer, in contact with people with risk diseases, for people who themselves have risk diseases, and for visiting members of vulnerable groups. Even if there is a high frequency of contact in everyday life, especially at work, at events or before traveling abroad, the fourth stitch is recommended.
