The new corona infections in Vienna show an ascent and descent. They halved within a day, but multiplied in intensive cases.
The corona numbers in Vienna fluctuate like hardly any other federal state. On Friday, 654 more cases were recorded than the day before. A dramatic development then emerged on Saturday. Because despite the Easter rest, the numbers rose rapidly in 24 hours. A total of 1,111 more cases were recorded than on Friday, plus 10,428 active cases. Another crash on Sunday, more than halving to 528 new cases.
The State Medical Directorate Vienna and the medical crisis team of the City of Vienna also show that there is no reason to relax: The number of people actively infected with corona is currently 10,306 and the federal capital also has three corona deaths. Particularly worrying, however, is that of the 23 new patients in the intensive care units, 17 had to be reported within one day in Vienna alone.
118,870 positive tests in total
As of Sunday, April 4, 2021, 118,870 positive tests have been confirmed in Vienna since the beginning of the pandemic. 106,627 people have recovered. The number of deaths related to the virus is 1,937. Thus, the federal capital currently has 10,306 active cases. On Holy Saturday, 51,227 corona test results were reported in Vienna. Of these, 30,509 were PCR tests and 20,718 were rapid antigen tests.
50 percent of the people who are currently testing positive in Vienna are without symptoms at the time of the test. The awareness rate in Vienna is currently 63 percent. The health hotline 1450 has taken 12,349 calls.
