Vienna’s Easter markets and coffeehouse culture make the city a popular spring destination around the world. The US travel magazine “Travel + Leisure” has included Vienna in the list of “Best Places to Travel in April 2022”.

Paris is the only other European city to make the list of the best travel destinations in April 2022. According to the magazine, spring temperatures and Easter markets such as Schönbrunn Palace make April ideal to visit. The Viennese coffee house culture, classical music, museums and culinary culture were also highlighted in the rating.
After the US media company “Bloomberg” and the British daily newspaper “The Independent”, Vienna is also one of the most popular travel destinations in the US magazine “Travel + Leisure”. The magazine is one of the leading and most influential travel media in the USA. With a monthly print run of around one million and an online reach of 14.5 million, “Travel + Leisure” has an enormous readership.
Tailwind for US travel audience activation
Tourism director Norbert Kettner saw this award as a positive sign for tourism in Vienna and as an important impetus for regaining long-distance markets. He now expects a strong travel audience from the USA. After Germany, Vienna is currently registering the greatest demand for bookings from the States, explained Kettner. In 2021, too, the USA was in fifth place in the top ten of the markets with the highest number of overnight stays.
