The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) has each awarded a grant of 800,000 euros to six researchers from the University of Groningen and the UMCG.
With this so-called Vidi funding, these experienced scientists can develop their own line of research over the next five years and set up a research group. Across the Netherlands, 78 scientists have received Vidi funding.
Julia Kamenz receives the subsidy for her research into cell division and the arrangement of cells. Vânia Correia de Aguiar will receive 800,000 euros for research into language development in children who have had a brain tumor. Alberto Godioli receives a Vidi for his research on humor in court and freedom of expression.
Gert Stulp receives a subsidy for research into predictions for having children. Marco Demaria will receive 8 tons for research into aging and the development of subcutaneous disease. Finally, Harish Vedantham (ASTRON/RUG) receives a Vidi for his research into the magnetic field and radio waves at planets outside our solar system.
