Sotoca, Fofana, Doucouré, Frankowski… They all registered magnificent goals for the RC Lens (Pas-de-Calais) during year 2021. As it is Christmas, we invite you to rediscover the eight most beautiful realizations from Lens, listed in chronological order by year. Enjoy!
1 – Sotoca vs Lyon (January 6)
It was the first game of the year for Franck Haise’s players. A difficult trip to Décines to face Olympique Lyonnais. The first hour is terrible for the Lensois who are led 3 to 0. But, with the courage, they came back to 3-2 and could even have equalized. Florian Sotoca had scored a magnificent shot coiled at the entrance to the surface which ended in the small nets of Anthony Lopes.
2 – Doucouré vs Lyon (January 6)
At the same meeting, Cheick Doucouré had lit the opposing cage, also at the entrance to the area. The ball had been touched by the Lyon goalkeeper but the strike was too powerful and was lodged in the top corner.
3 – Doucouré vs Montpellier (January 30)
Cheick Doucouré is the number 1 pyrotechnician of the Sang et Or. With a very good ball strike, the Malian has already scored several goals with the RCL. One of his finest was entered in Montpellier on January 30, in a 2-1 victory at La Mosson.
The Lensois midfielder had recovered the leather at 25 meters before placing an unstoppable long shot. Gaël Kakuta finally offered victory to his team in the second half.
4 – Jean vs Lorient (April 14)
Franck Haise’s players had largely won 4-1 against Lorient last April. Corentin Jean scored a cold-blooded goal after a superb combination between Kakuta, Clauss and Kalimuendo.
5 – Haidara vs Nîmes (25 avril)
A bicycle for a change! On April 25, at the Bollaert-Delelis stadium, Racing received Nîmes. Massadio Haidara offered the 3 points to his partners thanks to a scissor inscribed on a corner shot by Tony Mauricio. A beautiful acrobatics!
6 – Clauss vs Lorient (August 29)
At the very start of the 2021-2022 season, Racing received Lorient in its den. The opportunity for Jonathan Clauss to register a splendid free kick at 25 meters. A direct free kick scored in Lens is an event!
7 – Fofana vs Lorient (August 29)
We remain on this match which ended in a 2-2 draw. While Lens was led, Seko Fofana had managed to equalize thanks to a brilliant inspiration. A sequence worthy of the greatest!
8 – Frankowski vs Marseille
It is surely the best goal of this top 10! Traveling in Marseille, RC Lens had air-conditioned the Vélodrome after a spectacular match. The second Lensois goal is scored by Przemyslaw Frankowski with a superb coiled strike. We never tire !
