The failed start of Yamaha n°7
the 45e edition of the 24 Heures Motos was eventful from the first seconds of the race. Pole sitter Karel Hanika failed to start his bike and only managed to start several seconds behind his main rivals.

The start given Saturday at 3 p.m. on the Bugatti circuit of Le Mans, was immediately disrupted by an accident at the first corner involving motorcycles n ° 96 (Yamaha / EWC) and n ° 74 (BMW / SST) without the race being stopped. The safety car then entered the track in order to neutralize the positions of the competitors while the damaged motorcycles were evacuated.
Change of leader at the start of the night
After more than 280 laps and eight hours of racing, drivers Josh Hook, Mike Di Meglio and Gino Rea of the TSR Honda France team were in first place but after a mechanical problem, the leading men had to stop to make repair their machine and finally lost the lead of the race taken over by the Suzuki n°1 of SERT.

Starting in second position on the grid, the crew formed by French riders Gregg Black, Sylvain Guintoli and Belgian Xavier Siméon never left the trio of leading machines and patiently built their victory without having to take unnecessary risks. .
