Here, Tuesday 10 November 2020, Eric Dupont-Moretti visited the judicial court of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir). The Keeper of the Seals arrived around 3 p.m., received by Fadela Benrabia, prefect of Eure-et-Loir.
The president of the judicial tribunal of Chartres, Stéphanie Krétowicz and the public prosecutor, Rémi Coutin presented to the Minister of Justice how the tribunal worked during this period of confinement.

Discussions around domestic violence
After some discussions with the staff in the building offices, Eric Dupont-Moretti had a long discussion with the various court authorities about the prosecution’s criminal policy in matters of fight against domestic violence and the care of victims during confinement.
“Intrafamilial violence is unbearable and is followed very closely by the prosecution”, underlined the Keeper of the Seals at the end of this interview.

“We cannot envision a country without justice”
The Keeper of the Seals also wished to speak about the opening of the courts during this second confinement : “Can we imagine a country without an army, without police, without gendarmerie? We cannot imagine a country without justice ”.
Everything is arranged here, from the reception of the defendant, to the way in which they are taken care of. Everything is done so that despite the difficult conditions, we hold the bar.
