Anna Ilona Staller. This name means nothing to you ? This is normal because in France we remember her with her nickname: La Cicciolina. She remains, seen from France, like the sultry Italian icon of the 80s. The Italian who was free of her body and who was not afraid. She just celebrated her 72nd birthday with her friends and shared a photo on her Facebook page.

For Anne Illona Staller, it all began in Budapest, Hungary, where she was born in 1951. A waitress in a luxury hotel, she fell in love with an Italian businessman 25 years her senior. She married him, obtained Italian citizenship and divorced shortly after. Model, stripper in nightclubs, she became an actress in porn films in 1973. At the same time, a radio station entrusted her with the show “Voulez-vous vous slept avec moi?” To maintain the audience, she does not hesitate to masturbate live. In 1978, she appeared topless in a program on RAI, Italian public television. This is unheard of in Italy. She then becomes a world porn star.

From porn to politics

At the start of the 1980s, Cicciolina became seduced by politics. Firstly among the Greens where she is committed against nuclear energy. Then with the Radical Party which recruited her for the legislative election campaign. In 1987, she became a deputy in Rome and entered Parliament. Opposed to nuclear power and the culture of war, she advocated the liberalization of sexuality and continued, while being a deputy, to shoot X-rated films for two years. In 1990, war broke out between Iraq and Kuwait. A fan of provocation, she says she is ready to “make love with Saddam Hussein in order to restore peace in the Middle East”. A year later, she married an American sculptor in Budapest and then gave birth to a little boy. The couple separated after a year of marriage. The separation is followed by a long fight within the couple for custody of the child.

From politics to reality TV

In the 2000s, Cicciolina placed emphasis on television. She participates in the English version of “La Ferme Célébrités”. Eight years later, she was recruited by the Argentinian version of “Dancing with the Stars”. In both cases, she is the first personality to leave.

Attempt to return to politics

In 2012, Cicciolina decided to create her own political formation: DNA (like Democracy, Nature, Love). She ran for municipal elections in Monza but suffered a failure. A year later, she even tried her luck in Rome. New failure. Despite these disappointments, she continues to make her voice heard for a future without nuclear energy, for the decriminalization of drugs, against scientific experimentation on animals, for the teaching of sex education in schools and even for a new automobile tax against pollution.

In recent years, Cicciolina has associated its image with the Spanish clothing brand Desigual but also with the pornographic site Pornhub for a guided tour of famous nude paintings in the history of art.

At 72, Cicciolina is retired and still looking for love. She recently confided: “I’m not a desperate housewife.” She continues: “I’m not in a relationship at the moment, but Cupid could arrive at any moment. I don’t look at beauty, the most beautiful man is the one who respects the woman. A man is beautiful when he is gentle, tender and bring you flowers”.
