At “Talk & Tore”, WAC captain Michael Lienl spoke about his future in football. It is still unclear which team Liendl will lace its football boots for in the coming season.
“Basically there have been no discussions yet, not even about a possible contract extension. I don’t know how the president handles it, but we’ll see that then, ”said Liendl, whose contract with the WAC expires in the summer.
Because the veteran still feels physically in good shape, Liendl sees his short-term future on the pitch. “My body is still not giving me any signs to stop,” says the native of Graz.
Even after his active career, Liendl wants to remain loyal to football, but does not want to commit himself to one particular direction – whether coach, sports director or scout.
“Over the years, sport has given me more than anything else and that’s why I hope that I can stay active in football,” said Liendl.
