The model has a 77 kwh battery and can reach a speed of 147 km / h. As strengths, the power of the battery matters, but also the appeal to nostalgia, the full-electric model having much in common in appearance with Microbus (Type 2, Transporter or Kombi), a popular vehicle in the 60’s. ID Buzz is 4.72 meters long.

Passenger ID Buzz and the Cargo version will reach customers in the third quarter. The prices have not been announced, but the estimates are that for the passenger version they will start somewhere around 47-50,000 euros. The freight version could cost 10-12,000 euros more.

Three levels of equipment will be available: Pure, Pro and Packs. In 2023, more powerful versions will be introduced in the range, with dual engines, but also with all-wheel drive.

”ID. Buzz is the most emotional member of the all-electric ID family to date, carrying on the DNA of the legendary 1950 Volkswagen T1, ”said Volkswagen.

The production version is built on the versatile MEB (Modularen Elektrik Baukasten) architecture of the Volkswagen Group on which models such as VW ID 3 and ID 4 were built, as well as Skoda Enyaq.

“The center of gravity of the battery positioned at the bottom, installed in the flat floor, allows a high level of agility, the typical seating position in the minibus, a lot of space and flexibility, as well as a feeling of space,” the company says.
