Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest soccer players of his generation, unveiled his latest waxwork on Monday at the world’s largest wax museum, Madame Tussauds in New York.
A few days before the World Cup, Ronaldo became the first athlete to do this “Take Times Square”, a company whose exclusivity has been honored with a wax figure at Madame Tussauds. The epic moment captured the attention of a cheering crowd as Ronaldo delivered a personal message to his fans, broadcast by his home country’s tourism promotion brand, Visit Portugal, on several jumbotrons in the heart of New York.
This was indicated by the president of Visit Portugal, Luis Araújo “The support for this event reflects the commitment to a growing market and the belief that Portugal is ever closer to the United States and offers many reasons to be a preferred destination for Americans”.
Visit Portugal has put together a strong program to promote the destination in the North American market by partnering with the Cristiano Ronaldo wax figure launch event at Madame Tussauds New York. Following the discovery of the wax figure, Visit Portugal displayed on each of the jumbotrons the best the country has to offer, from its people and natural and historical heritage to a message from Portugal to the world on the importance of “travel better”.
