A video referee took an interesting turn in the MTK-Ferencváros football match.
Towards the end of the first half, MTK’s Gergő Kocsis would have started towards the Ferencváros goal, but Ismail Aaneba fouled him, the referee Bence Csonka initially awarded the Ferencváros player a yellow card and MTK a free kick.
Instead of an FTC red, the VAR awarded an MTK yellow
At the same time, the VAR examined the incident, the referee also went out to see the scene, but while many expected that Gergő Kocsis’ start would be judged as a goal chance and Aanebá would be sent off, a free kick was finally awarded and the MTK player received a yellow card, since the replay he appeared to have stepped on Ben Romdhan seconds earlier.
