On Friday, February 3, US Coast Guardsmen rescued a man at the mouth of the Columbia River seconds after a massive wave capsized his yacht.
Alerted by a distress call around 10 a.m., the coast guards took the direction of the boat, reports the daily site The Columbian. “Air crews arrived on the scene to find the vessel stuck in the waves. The waves made rescue by boat dangerous, so it was decided to lower the rescue swimmer into the water”, the Pacific Northwest Coast Guard tweeted. The swimmer was thus able to recover the man, and a few seconds later, the boat capsized.
