If you bring a lot of time with you, Dreams is an incredibly powerful tool for multi-layered creations in the area of games, pictures and animations! Above all, the dreamlike backdrops of painterly brushstrokes and the elaborate animations have amazed me again and again! LittleBigPlanet creator Media Molecule has actually straddled a distinctive style and a lot of artistic freedom. The opportunities to share and cooperate are also exemplary. It is a pity, however, that beginners are not handled as well with simplified systems as in LittleBigPlanet, Gameglobe or Super Mario Maker. Newcomers should quickly feel overwhelmed here. This is sometimes also noticeable in creations, because a lot has so far been more like a vision of what is possible – especially since the story mode, which is around two and a half hours long, also acts more like a (very pretty) source of ideas. In addition, you should keep in mind that other successful 3D modules such as Gameglobe from Square Enix have disappeared from the image relatively quickly. For ambitious hobbyists, the question still arises whether they would rather not spend the energy on learning a future-proof professional engine like Unreal or Unity.
