The good thing about the Internet is that it offers us a lot of audiovisual content, both new and old. We can travel to the US without crossing the pond, physically, to travel the Route 66 or circulate through the most important cities of the North American country, as in this case.

Thanks to canal NASS, which rescues and restores classic videos, we have the opportunity to driving down Michigan Avenue in Chicago in the 1930s, or move between those 1940s Ford, DeSoto and Buick on New York City’s Eighth Avenue.

This is an excellent opportunity to see the ‘controlled chaos’ of traffic – there were no signs of yield or stop – the atmosphere of those interwar years, with people walking on the sidewalks, crossing the tracks or the businesses that prevailed at the time.
