On Monday afternoon, L’Indépendant organized a meeting between USAP penyes and François Rivière, the club’s president. He confided in the various current topics around the club.

A little over an hour of exchanges between the penyes and the management of the USAP. This is what L’Indépendant proposed, early Monday afternoon, to François Rivière, president of the Catalan club and Bruno Rolland, its general manager, and five of the main supporters’ clubs. Jean-Claude Estirach (president of Els Arrels de l’USAP), Elise Mary-Benavent (treasurer of Els amics de Pezilla amb l’USAP), Jean-Marc Pastoret (president of the Barretines), Alain Jimenez (President of the Us @pistes) and Régis Fior (president of Les Farfadets)* were able to ask their questions. On the program, three main themes, the current and future sporting situation, the balance sheet and economic ambitions and the subject of infrastructure.

The specifications for the future manager

Asked about these different themes, François Rivière confided in particular on the profile sought after by the future manager, whom he hopes to appoint within a month and a half. He is looking for someone who will work with the current staff (David Marty, Guillaume Villaceca, Gérald Bastide and Perry Frashwater), who are under contract and whom the president wants to see stay, but who will also be able to adapt to the territory project. USAP and sporting ambitions. On the other hand, he did not want to confirm any name, the exchanges being still confidential.

The budget will increase significantly

In terms of budgetary ambitions, USAP, which aims to remain in the Top 14 at the end of the season, will have, at the end of the season, a budget of around €19.5 million, an increase compared to the beginning of the year. For the years to come, François Rivière, who has confirmed that he is talking with “two international groups” who are planning to enter the capital (“but we are only at the very beginning”), has put forward his desire to increase the budget, as of next season, to €21.5 million and reach, within three years, the €25 million which will allow €10 million to be devoted to payroll, an essential step for “play the Top 10”.
