On Monday, February 6, the match of the 19th trois of the Polish Championship between Cracovia and Korona took place. The game ended with the score 2:1 in favor of the team from Kielce.
Ukrainian midfielder Yevgeny Konoplyanka came out in the starting lineup of Cracovia for this match. At the 56th minute of the game, the Ukrainian made an absolutely unnecessary foul in his penalty area and brought a penalty, which was successfully converted.
Konoplyanka was substituted in the 62nd minute, and his team managed to win back only one goal.
After the match, the well-known Polish publication “Dziennik Polski” assessed the players for the match. Eugene got the worst – 2 points.
Here is how the publication commented on the game of Eugene:
“If Cracovia had managed to hold out longer after conceding a goal, they could have taken at least one point from Kielce. Konoplyanka, with his thoughtless action, did not allow this to be done. He brought a completely pointless penalty. Such an experienced player has no right to play like that.”
