At least 10 streets in Galati are flooded, following torrential rains recorded on Friday morning. There is also plenty of water in the shelter of abandoned animals in Galaţi, where there are about 500 quadrupeds.
According to the spokesperson of ISU Galaţi, Eugen Chiriţă, about 10 streets in Galaţi were flooded, in some areas the water reaching up to half a meter. In the area of the CFR hospital in the city, the water measures about 35 centimeters.
Firefighters intervene to drain the water with a high-capacity motor pump.
“After heavy rains, about 10 streets were flooded. On some of them the water measured 50 centimeters, but no houses were flooded, only courtyards. We operate a high-capacity motor pump in the lowest part of the city, close to the pumping station. We hope to return to normal within an hour. The water entered the courtyards, but not the houses. We draw water with this high-capacity motor pump to drain it completely. The traffic was blocked for a while so as not to cause waves, but now it has been resumed because the water has started to fall. It measures 10-15 cm in some areas “, said Eugen Chiriţă, according to news.ro.
