The last Ecuadorian to have his debut in the international cups was Dolphin. For the first date of Group C in the Copa Sudamericana, Cetaceo visited Bolivia to face the humble Real Tomayapo. In an area that previously had a tie between Belgrano and Internacional de Porto Alegre, At the IV Centenario Stadium in Tarija came the goals and the 2-0 victory for Cetáceo.
The first to hurt was precisely Guillermo Duró’s team, with a great deep pass from Maikel Reyes that Horacio Tijanovich ran in an accurate definition to the first post. However, the action was annulled due to the Argentine footballer’s advanced position after a VAR review.
Pedro Galindo initially played a leading role. The Bolivian goalkeeper drowned out José Angulo after a long-distance shot and then a double block in the six-yard box to keep his goal at zero in the first half hour of play.
Tijanovich’s position in Delfín’s disallowed goal.
In the 38th minute, the clearest one for the home team: Jorge Ortega shot into the void, finished between Brian Heras’ legs, but the ball was right for the Ecuadorian Uno.
And the emotions were long in coming, but they arrived in the second half. An extended arm inside the Bolivian area led to a maximum penalty that Angulo converted into a goal.

Tomayapo, a team with no international experience, demonstrated that factor in how they managed the times and came out unarmed to seek parity. And of course, Delfín took advantage of it: Ignacio Gariglio caught a lost ball after a corner kick and caused an Ecuadorian uproar in Tarija.
The goal cry of the Argentine defender.
