The Egyptian boxing player, Ramez Hossam, died at the age of 17, due to a brain hemorrhage, according to what was announced by the Railway Club in Tanta yesterday, Wednesday.
Hossam fell into a coma, as a result of receiving several fatal blows at the hands of his opponent at the end of the Republic Youth Championship, where he was placed on respirators inside Tanta University Hospital, to no avail.
While a state of sadness prevailed among the people of the city of Tanta, Gharbia Governorate, at the death of the player, Ramez Hossam, and his funeral and burial took place in his hometown in Cairo Governorate.
The Railway Club in Tanta witnessed the incident, which came during the start of the Republic Boxing Championship, where a decisive match was held between the victim and another boxer, which ended with the first losing by a knockout last Thursday.
Ramez was able to stand after announcing his loss, and soon fell to the ground and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he breathed his last on Wednesday.
