Video: Spice X launch, with astronaut on board, for the first time in history

“The trampoline jumping tool did its job,” said Elon Musk, the founder of SpiceX, which on Saturday sent two astronauts from NASA to the International Space Station.

This is in response to the head of the Russian Space Agency, who ridiculed six years before the United States was unable to send manned space flights.

Amid tensions between the two countries, during which Moscow threatened to stop space cooperation with Washington, Dmitry Rogozin said in 2014 that American astronauts might need “trampolines” to reach the International Space Station.

“The trampoline jumping tool did its job,” Musk told a news conference on Sunday, alongside NASA director Jim Braidenstein, after a successful takeoff of a missile produced by SpaceX.

“It is a joke,” the 48-year-old businessman added before the two men laughed.

This hint ignited Russian social media, and there were many “memes” and jokes on the Internet that made fun of Rogozin. The name of the head of the Russian Space Agency on Twitter also spread in Russia.

This forced the spokesman for the head of the Russian Space Agency to respond.

“We don’t really understand the hysteria caused by the successful launch of the Crew Dragon capsule,” Vladimir Ostimenko said in a tweet on Twitter.

“What happened should have happened a long time ago,” he added.

The successful launch of the “Spice X” missile is seen as a blow to Russia, which has so far been the only country able to send astronauts to the International Space Station since 2011.
