Shocking security footage obtained by The Post shows the moment a 16-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the head and killed by his cohort in a shootout in Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon.
The gunman was shooting at a rival gunman after being shot in the stomach amid a volley of bullets along a commercial strip in eastern New York at around 1:30 p.m., police said.
Three young men wearing hooded sweatshirts walked down Pitkin Avenue when one opened fire.
But instead of hitting his rival, the gunman accidentally hit 16-year-old Cahlil Pennington in the head on the corner of Miller Avenue, according to police and video footage.
After Pennington is shot, another young man in a blood-soaked sweatshirt attempts to shoot a lame Pennington around the corner and out of the firing line.
Pennington, a resident of Canarsie, was taken to Brookdale Hospital and pronounced dead, police said.
