The inmates – two pilots and financial police officers – were lucky: two of them suffered minor injuries. The helicopter was badly damaged, as can be seen on the recordings. It was only bought a year ago for 10 million euros.

In Austria, a variant of the helicopter type is to be purchased in the second half of 2022. However, they come for the army new Leonardo AW 169M are used that have runners instead of wheels and are therefore more stable. The new helicopters will replace the “Alouette” III and complement the “Black Hawk” fleet.
