After the rocket hit a shopping center, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of targeting the civilian building. To substantiate this accusation, he posted a video on his Telegram channel showing the missile impact in the city of Kremenchuk.
“The Russian missile hit exactly this object. Purposeful. Obviously there was such an order,” President Zelenskyy said of the impact. The aim was to kill as many people as possible.
Russian Missile Hits Mall: Could Be an Accident
The Russian Ministry of Defense and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had denied that the shopping center was shelled. The “high-precision missiles” fired by Moscow hit factory buildings in Kremenchuk, where western weapons and ammunition were stored. The explosion caused the fire in the “shopping center that is no longer in use,” said Russian army spokesman Igor Konashenkov.
Zelenskyy, on the other hand, saw the attack on the Kremenchuk shopping center as part of Moscow’s overall strategy directed against the Ukrainian people.
According to British intelligence, the hit could have been an accident. Because the Russian long-range missiles have already proven to be imprecise in the past. At least 20 people were killed in the rocket attack.
