HEERENVEEN – Last week, Friends of SC Heerenveen made a call via social media to stand still for a minute during the first home match of SC Heerenveen against FC Utrecht, remembering the passing of loyal supporter Sjoerd Visser from De Westereen. The match took place last Saturday.
In their message, the supporters shared the sad news that Sjoerd Visser, a devoted fan of the club, passed away on June 21st at far too young an age. During the 23rd minute of the match, the entire stadium stood up for Sjoerd and clapped for a minute. Even the away section with 600 FC Utrecht supporters clapped enthusiastically and had made a banner in honor of Sjoerd.
Sjoerd’s family and friends were invited to the Nieuw Noord section, where they were able to experience this special moment together. Later that evening, the summary on Studio Sport also referred to this impressive tribute.
