ened is currently carrying out works on the municipal road between Amne (Sarthe) and the Small Groies.
The goal? Modernize the power grid medium voltage (20,000 volts) which dates from 1971 and pass it underground.
Almost three km are concerned. Two km of overhead lines will be removed. The works were entrusted to the company SPIE, represented by Cyril Chemineau.
The team on the site uses a specific machine, loaned by Eiffage, a slicer. It digs 26 cm wide. At the rear, a system allows the cable to be unwound in the trench.
In addition, the transformer station will be removed in favor of a more modern cabinet which has already been installed.
Power cuts
Consequence of the operation, power cuts are to be expected from September 20.
“The users concerned will be notified by mail but we are trying to limit them as much as possible”, indicates Loïc Simon, contact with local authorities for Enedis.
Cost of the operation for the distributor? € 245,000.
Other work is underway in the town where the team is laying medium voltage cables using a smaller trencher which digs 16 cm in width.
The end of worksites is expected for next October with downtime.
