The former candidate for Mayor of Bucaramanga, Jaime Andrés Beltrán, and who disputed the administration with Rodolfo Hernández’s candidate, Juan Carlos Cárdenas, announced that in this second presidential round he will support the candidacy of the League of Anticorruption Governors.
Through a video published on his social networks, the Colombian councilor Justa Libres stated that he cannot support a candidate who puts the country’s democracy at risk “and much less, who threatens freedom of worship.”
“Colombia is at a decisive moment, the election this June 19 determines how far our country will go. Our dream has been to have a president with values, with principles, with fear of God. The scenario that we have in the second round demands that we assume positions”, he pointed out.
The lobbyist made it clear that his vote is in favor of Rodolfo Hernández, despite the political differences that have divided them for years.
“We do not promote the blank vote, much less ask that they stay at home. Despite the differences that I have had with him in the political field, I have to be consistent and aware that the best option is a Santanderean, businessman, who fights against corruption and who has understood that freedoms are respected, “he added.
Beltrán has been one of the largest voters in the Christian sector in Bucaramanga. In 2019 he tried to reach the Mayor’s Office of Bucaramanga with 40,607 votes.
Despite his high voter turnout, Hernández’s political quota remained with the municipal administration.
However, Beltrán reached the seat in the Opposition Statute Council, where he has given political control to Mayor Cárdenas.
