On the first day of road cycling, the French won 11 medals. Alexandre Léauté, Kévin le Cunff, Thomas Peyroton-Dartet and Mathieu Bosredon even managed to win the Paralympic title.
A shower of medals. In Clichy-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis), the Paralympic time trial events smiled on the French on Wednesday, September 4. Nineteen races were on the program, offering almost as many chances for medals. In the end, the French cyclists brought back to the French delegation four gold medals, five silver and three bronze, offering races each more beautiful than the last.

Para cycling (road): Florian Jouanny wins a bronze medal in the H2 time trial For his first Paralympic Games, Florian Jouanny won a fine bronze medal in the H2 road time trial, behind the Spaniard Sergio Garrote Munoz and the Italian Luca Mazzone.
In category H2, for handbikeFlorian Jouanny has won a new Paralympic medal. Bronze medalist in Tokyo, the 2023 vice-world champion once again took bronze in Paris, bringing his total to four Paralympic medals in his career. Florian Jouanny was hoping for better, however.
Paralympics 2024 – Cycling: Elie de Carvalho and Mickaël Guichard deprived of gold medal
The morning ended with three medals, but the afternoon was even more prolific. Accompanied by his guide Mickaël Guichard, in category B, Elie de Carvalho won a silver medal for his first Paralympic Games. The 29-year-old rider managed his time trial well, but he was more than 12 seconds short of winning the title.
Crowned in pursuit on the track, Dorian Foulon had to settle for bronze in his road time trial (category C5), more than 58 seconds behind the winner, the Dutchman Daniel Abraham Gebru. With two medals in Paris, he did better than in Tokyo.

The French clan did not stop there, with Kévin Le Cunff and Gatien Le Rousseau offering two additional medals. The Tricolores climbed onto the two highest steps of the podium in the individual time trial of the C4 category. A race perfectly mastered by Kévin Le Cunff, who won his first medal in these Games.

In the following time trial, another Frenchman shone. Thomas Peyroton-Dartet, in the C3 category, excelled himself at the best moment. Never crowned in international competition, the Haut-Garonnais put on a real demonstration, with more than 43 seconds ahead of his closest pursuer.
Paralympics 2024 – Cycling: like in Tokyo, Loïc Vergnaud takes silver in the time trial
Loïc Vergnaud could not compete with the Dutchman Mitch Valize, who was much better than all the other riders on the roads of the Paris region. However, the Roanne native finished in second place in the H5 category time trial, for handbikeAt 45, he is collecting silver medals. This is his fourth.
Paralympics 2024 – Cycling: Mathieu Bosredon wins gold
The medal fireworks were not over. During the final time trial of the day, in the H3 category, the French team shone once again. Mathieu Bosredon and Johan Quaile finished first and second. Never worried, Mathieu Bosredon won in Clichy-sous-Bois, giving France its 15th gold medal of these Paralympic Games, the fourth in road cycling.
