The court in New York has recently released a video that probably does not strengthen Donald Trump’s defense in the sexual assault case against him.
In court in October, the former president was shown an older photograph of himself and E. Jean Carroll, who has sued him for assault and defamation in the 90s.
But Trump claimed the woman in the photo was his then-wife, Marla Maples. She was Trump’s second wife from 1993 and 1999, after Ivana and before Melania Trump.

The video then shows him interrupting himself:
– It’s Marla.
– It’s Marla, yes. My wife.
Trump is then explained that the woman in the photo is plaintiff Carroll. Then he blames the image quality:
– It is very unclear, says Trump.
Ridiculed for decision
“Not his type”
The former American president is accused of assaulting former Elle journalist E. Jean Carroll (79). It must have happened in the mid-90s in a fitting room at a store in Manhattan.
Trump himself claims it’s all a lie from Carroll to increase her book sales. Carroll has also sued him for defamation after he publicly denied her allegations on his social platform Truth Social.

The lawsuit is one of several ongoing cases against Trump in the legal system. At the same time, he has declared himself a candidate for the presidential election in 2024.
Although the former president points out the woman in the photo as his then wife, he has also said that Carroll is not his “type”. He has used this as an argument that he cannot have committed abuse against her.
Carroll’s lawyers believe that Trump’s confusion over who is in the photo could undermine his explanation that she “wasn’t his type”, writes the BBC.
