Questionable action by US border guards

These images were recently filmed by US border guards beating migrants with whip-like cords. The people were in the process of transporting supplies from Mexico over the Rio Grande towards Texas. Jen Psakei, White House spokeswoman, condemned the actions and was surprised: “We just saw these recordings. It’s terrible. But we need more information.” Hundreds of mostly Haitian migrants commute between the city of Ciudad Acuna in Mexico and the refugee camp under a highway bridge in Del Rio, Texas. They bring food and water. The camp with thousands of people has become a major problem for the US authorities. In the meantime, around 14,000 migrants stayed there. The Haitians are fleeing gang violence, extreme poverty and the consequences of natural disasters. The US authorities are still trying with all their might to master the situation and have begun, among other things, to organize deportation flights to Haiti.
