Putin experienced another difficult moment at the BRICS summit – he could not pronounce the Turkish President Erdogan‘s last name correctly, “dialog.ua” writes.
Putin found himself in an awkward position at the BRICS summit – the Russian president tried to pronounce Erdogan’s name three times, but the 72-year-old Kremlin leader still could not pronounce it correctly.
It took Putin three tries to properly introduce the Turkish president before his speech, but he still couldn’t get it right.
The event was caught on live cameras and quickly spread on social networks and the Internet. “Help the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Erjagan… Recep Tayyip… Erjag… Erdogan,” Putin stammered, trying to pronounce the politician’s last name.
This is not the first time that the head of the Kremlin has changed his words when he is talking to the leaders of other countries. It should be noted that Putin turned 72 at the beginning of October, and in recent years he has shown signs of mental problems.
Neurologists note that difficulty pronouncing words in old age can be a sign of neurological problems, including Parkinson’s disease. Less common are cognitive causes – various types of depression, memory impairment, slower information processing and difficulty finding words.
