The Police had to save the life of Darwin Felipe Beltrán, a 31-year-old man who is accused of murdering his two small children, ages 4 and 7, in the Las Ferias neighborhood of Bogotá.
According to the authorities, the man, who has a history of domestic violence and drug use, would have committed the crime, apparently motivated by an argument with the mother of the minors about the woman’s alleged infidelity.
The Police reported that they received a call to 123 about an apparent fight that occurred in that sector of Engativá, when they arrived in the area they found a mob of people who were beating the man after it was known that he had attacked the minors. , a girl and a boy, with a knife.
Given the facts, the uniformed officers had to intervene to prevent the community from continuing to beat the man, since they wanted to do justice with their own means.
After the operation and the capture of the suspect, who had blood stains from the children on his clothes, he was transferred by the authorities to a Police station and today he will be presented before a guarantee control judge.

Bogotá Mayor’s Office speaks out
Given the new act of violence that leaves two children as victims, the Secretariats of Education and Social Integration of Bogotá, in a joint statement, rejected the murder of Santy Steban Beltrán Ramírez and Susan Beltrán Ramírez, aged 4 and 7, respectively. , both students from district schools in the city.
“The unfortunate case of these two innocent children hurts us deeply and ratifies our obligation to work tirelessly as entities, as a family and as a society so that Bogotá is a city that cares for all girls and boys,” they wrote in the statement.
At the same time, they reported that they will continue working to achieve results that allow Bogotá to “build a life free of violence, especially in the family context and in the face of abuse of children and adolescents.”
