WARTAKOTALIVE.COM--The palace has answered criticism of future presidential candidate Anies Baswedan regarding the construction of toll roads which were rife during President Jokowi’s era.
The Special Staff of the Secretary of State Faldo Maldini also showed a number of surveys showing that the public was satisfied with the toll road construction carried out during the Jokowi era.
In fact, said Faldo Maldini, the construction of toll roads is an important instrument of public satisfaction with Jokowi’s government.
This was stated by Faldo Maldini at the Populi Center Office, Jakarta, Monday (29/5/2023) as quoted from Tribunnews.com.
“We see this in the construction of roads that we see, for example, the toll road is one of the programs that gets satisfaction that is not low. In fact, it tends to be high,” said Faldo Maldini.
The PSI politician also explained that public satisfaction with the construction of toll roads during the Jokowi era meant that residents were willing to pay to cross the road.
“That’s because of what? because people can afford it. It’s not a matter of making roads free of charge, but how to build infrastructure that people can pay for,” Faldo explained.

Faldo also replied to Anies Baswedan’s criticism regarding infrastructure development which he considered unfair.
He also asked the former Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture to look at the construction around the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.
“Try a friend through Karawang a little via Cikampek, there are 3 layers of the toll road, after that the LRT, after that the Jakarta-Bandung fast train is like that. That’s a view that we think is unusual from the perspective of infrastructure development which is often criticized for being unfair,” Faldo said.

Not only road construction, Faldo claims that President Jokowi has also improved law enforcement, which has been the focus of the coalition for change for unity.
“Pak Jokowi, it has also been seen in the survey that there is a re-orchestration of law enforcement institutions which so far have had a high level of corruption at the KPK, this time the Attorney General’s Office is starting to get stronger. The BPK is starting to play a role, and the police are also starting to play a role. So, sir, the method is synchronizing law enforcement institutions. ‘ said Faldo.
Because of that, the PSI politician also replied that Anies Baswedan had to talk a lot about what programs would be offered from the coalition for change.

“When you offer, for example Mr. Anies Baswedan, for example, offer changes, what kind of changes and how do you do that. Because people will ask when you say the economy is unfair, Indonesia is centered on Java and Mr. Anies will also continue. So people will always ask . How to do it?,” he said.
