Indignation. That is the sentiment generated by a recent case of child abuse that occurred in the Bocachica district, an insular area of Cartagena.
A video recorded the moment when the minor, who was in an internet and video game room, was brutally beaten by his father.
In the images it is observed when the man slaps the boy in the face, then hits him in various parts of the body. However, the aggressions do not stop there, then the subject grabs him by the head, picks him up and smashes him against the ground and continues to hit him.

Restore rights
The Metropolitan Police of Cartagena maintained that once they had knowledge of the attack, they contacted the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) and the Family Police Station to restore the rights of the minor.
The commander of the Metropolitana, Brigadier General Nicolás Zapata Restrepo, explained that the mother took the boy from Bocachica to the La Bodeguita dock, where the authorities received him.
He added that the case was reported to the Attorney General’s Office, to later define the judicial situation of the aggressor and answer for the crimes that may be charged.

So far in 2021, the Metropolitan Police of Cartagena has known 115 cases of child abuse, 26 cases of child abandonment, 17 cases of evasion of the family nucleus, 49 cases of begging, 96 cases of street situation of minors and 4 cases of exploitation of child labor or minors.
The Police indicated that the State, society and the family will be guarantors of the harmonious and integral development of children and adolescents, as well as the exercise of all the rights recognized in the Constitution, in the law and in all the international instruments signed For Colombia, in the same way, anyone can demand from the competent authority the fulfillment of these rights and the respective sanction to the violators of the same.
