The call to the scene was received at 22.18. One apartment of 20 square meters in the multi-storey building caught fire, reports SFRS.
One person died in the fire.
Before the SFRS arrived, 20 people evacuated from the building, and firefighters rescued another 16 people.
The fire was localized at 23.03.
22 fire and rescue workers were working at the scene, using four tank trucks and one car ladder.
According to eyewitnesses of the portal “Delfi”, the doctors of the Emergency Medical Service had also arrived at the scene.
Until 23.30, three SFRS crews have been at the scene.
According to the eyewitnesses of “Delfi”, on Wednesday evening, alarm sounds suddenly sounded and two and later the third car of the SFRS arrived at the multi-storey building.
Until the car arrived, nothing on the lower floors of the house indicated a possible fire accident – there was no smoke or the smell characteristic of a fire.
Entry into the house during the evening was restricted. SFRS firefighters – rescuers have also invited those interested, who had come to observe what had happened, as well as performed an inspection of the house, to return to the house.
Extinguishing work in the house continued until almost midnight, eyewitnesses observed.
Some SFRS rescuers had also sat down on the bench to breathe, as well as to inform the residents of the house, who returned home, about what had happened.
