A video of a partying crowd causes bad blood in Dilbeek. That just on the day that the city council announced extra measures because the infection rate is rising rapidly.

The images were made on Friday after a wedding in the town hall in the center of Dilbeek. “In the town hall itself everything went smoothly and according to the regulations”, alderman of Burgerzaken Linda Janssens (LVBurger-Open VLD) says. “There were thirty people in the room, all wearing mouth masks.”
Once the newly married couple and family stepped out, things suddenly turned out to be very different. A group made music and there was dancing.
‘Once they have left the wedding hall, we expect people to take their responsibility,’ says Janssens. ‘That clearly didn’t happen here and is absolutely unacceptable.’
Increasing number of infections
Dilbeek has been struggling for a few days with a sharp increase in the number of infections. The municipality is in an increased alarm phase and therefore announced on Friday that, among other things, the Day of the Dilbekenaar was canceled later this month. The planned physical city council next Tuesday in the party hall of Westrand has also been canceled. “We have to take our exemplary role,” said Mayor Willy Segers (N-VA).
It is not clear for the time being whether the joyful scenes at the town hall will have a tail end.
