Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi Ministry of Interior published a video clip showing the process of monitoring and arresting beggars in the Qassim region.

According to Saudi laws and regulations, begging in all its forms and forms is prohibited, regardless of its justifications. The Ministry of Interior arrests beggars, and then the beggar is referred to the authority competent to investigate violations of the system. To take the necessary legal measures against him.

Anyone who practices begging or incites, agrees with, or assists another person – in any way – to practice begging shall be punished. Imprisonment for a period not exceeding (six) months, or a fine not exceeding (fifty) thousand riyals, or both.

Anyone who practices begging, manages beggars, incites others, agrees with him, or assists him – in any way – to do any of this within an organized group that practices begging shall also be punished. Imprisonment for a period not exceeding one year, or a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand riyals, or both.

Any non-Saudi who has been punished – except for the wife of the Saudi or the husband or children of the Saudi – shall be deported from the Kingdom in accordance with the provisions of Paragraphs (1) and (2) of this Article after the end of his sentence in accordance with the established legal procedures, and shall be prohibited from returning to the Kingdom. Except for performing Hajj or Umrah.

The system allowed doubling the penalty in the event that the beggar repeats his act, not to exceed twice the maximum limit prescribed for it.
