On February 15, a match took place in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League between Milan and Tottenham. The teams played at the San Siro stadium in Milan. The confrontation ended with the score 1:0 in favor of the team of Stefano Pioli.

The Milanese opened the scoring in the seventh minute – Braim Diaz scored. A long throw into the Tottenham penalty area followed, where Theo Hernandez received the ball and shot hard on goal – Fraser Forster parried the shot, but Diaz ran in and pushed the ball into the net on the second attempt.
This victory was the first for the Milanese club in the Champions League playoffs in the last nine years – the last time the Rossoneri could boast of success in the Champions League playoffs was in February 2013 – then on February 20, the Italian club was stronger in the first leg 1/8 finals with Barcelona.
The return match between Tottenham and Milan will take place on March 8 in London.
