In the state of confinement due to coronaviruses, traffic has been radically reduced in Valencia, however a percentage of people who work in essential services of society as well as public transport services continue to operate. Precisely between a vehicle, stopped in the bus lane and an EMT bus there has been an unpleasant incident. In the images, which have gone viral through the Valencian WhatsApp groups, it is seen as an EMT bus that coils a car and literally pushes it when being stopped in the bus lane in the Center of Valencia in the State of Alarm by coronavirus. The images begin with the driver of the vehicle challenging the bus driver and prompting him “If you have a cush … you bust it shit,” he says, and the bus, neither short nor lazy, gives it two hits and moves it a dozen meters when the driver of the white car was going to get into his car.
Works in the center of Valencia
The scene took place in a central city street very close to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. In this sense, it should be remembered that coinciding with the coronavirus pandemic, the Valencia City Council began work on Monday to change direction Colón street, the main commercial artery in the center of Valencia and the pedestrianization of the plaza del town hall. Thus, as the mayor of València, Joan Ribó, advanced a few days ago, and once the coordination meetings between the Sustainable Mobility and Works and Infrastructures services on the Public Road have been held, on Monday, the 27th, the works that will culminate in a few weeks with the pedestrianization of most of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and his or her environment.
The performance will begin with traffic reorganization work on Colón street. In detail, this Monday we will proceed to remove the current elements of segregation of the lane for the EMT bus, while between Tuesday and Thursday, with the traffic on Colón street interrupted (except for the access of residents and users of public and private parking lots), the rest of the signaling works will be carried out.
Once Colón street reopened to traffic, with the new double EMT-Taxi lane and the rearranged circulation, from Monday May 4 the circulation will be interrupted in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where the works of infrastructure maintenance and sustainable mobility contracts will begin, which will last the time necessary to carry out, with due security measures, the renewal of the asphalt and the authorization of the signage and urban furniture that will delimit the around 12,000 m2 of new pedestrian space.
