The Israel Defense Forces, for its part, said the rockets hit undeveloped areas and caused no injuries.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it targeted the military base on the mountain. The movement declared on its website that the attack had been carried out in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and “their brave and honorable resistance” as well as “in response to the attack and murder carried out by the Israeli enemy in the city of Baraachit.”
A few hours earlier, Palestinian media reported that Israeli soldiers had used white phosphorus shells to attack an area in southern Lebanon.
