New York, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 ((rezonodwes.com)) – A young Haitian-American man from Long Island has been arrested and charged with second degree murder by New York City police after being identified on a video by surveillance throwing the body of his pregnant girlfriend, also of Haitian descent, on a freeway in Queens, NY, at the end of last week, according to the New York Daily News.
« On Friday October 23, 2020, at around 2:50 a.m., CCTV showed the accused, Goey Charles (29), stopped at 216-07 Horace Harding Expressway“Said Melinda Katz, District Attorney for Queens. She went on to say that “ Charles stepped out of the driver’s seat of a white 2019 Dodge Challenger, which is registered in the name of the victim, Vanessa Pierre. He walked to the back seat where Ms. Pierre could be seen moving around on the video. Soon after, all movement stopped and the victim appeared to be lying in the back seat, motionless. At around 4:38 a.m., the accused was observed exiting the vehicle and then allegedly dragged the pregnant woman out of the car and allegedly dropped her body on the sidewalk« .

Vanessa Pierre, a nurse by profession, a resident of Hempstead, was three months away from giving birth to the couple’s child. She was found face down on the side of the Horace Harding Freeway, near Bell Boulevard in Bayside, around 6 a.m. Friday.
Prosecutor Katz said: “ It is a heartbreaking affair. A pregnant woman was killed by the accused, the father of her unborn child. His family is devastated. The accused is in police custody and will have to answer for his alleged acts« .
