Two weeks after the one in Louvigné-du-Désert, a new rave party was organised Saturday 19 Novemberin a place called La Vairie, in the countryside of Saint-Marc-le-Blancnear ferns.

Party goers, mostly from Normandy and some Mayenne, established on the site of the former Roger Lambert granite factory. The music diffusion system, a “sound wall”, was set up inside a hangar.

Sunday 20 November in the morning, Lucas, one of the organizers, said:

We arrived at 10pm on Saturday. We are all here to have fun. We cut the sound at 2pm on Sunday, negotiated with the gendarmerie. We clean up the site and then go back.

The organizers specify that during this rave party between 300 and 400 partygoers gathered. Sunday 20 Novemberparticipants were starting to leave the site, and about 150 people remained by the end of the morning.

Noise for several kilometers around

An elected official of the municipality went to the scene, as did the gendarmes. Captain Xavier Houbart describes:

We will organize checks and expand the system during the day to ensure that no one leaves alcohol or on narcotics. We also received several calls from residents complaining about the noise.

According to our information, the music was heard several kilometers away Saint-Marc-le-Blanc as a Saint-Ouen-des-Alleux, Maen Roch (Saint-Brice) et Mezieres-sur-Couesnon.

Contacted, the mayor of Saint-Marc-le-BlancOlivier Gaigne, remember that rave parties have already taken place several times on this disused site.

The first rave took place in 2013, the last one last April. We will present, as usual, a complaint for illegal organization of the demonstration. It bothers me this impunity and what these rave parties generate in traffic.

The mayor adds that he will also solicit the owners of the site, grouped in a real estate civil society (SIC). “I’m going to call them so everyone can file a complaint.”
