MOTOGONKI.RU, November 8, 2024 – Storm Dana brought three months of rainfall to the mountainous regions of Valencia, La Mancha and Andalusia, which led to the formation of significant flows of water in the Sechera and Poyo gorges, which swept through the foothills in a devastating flood. Chiva and Cheste suffered significantly, especially Chiva. In the middle of this small town of 20,000 inhabitants flowed the sweet-looking river Rambla de Chiva, which on the evening of November 29 turned into a rapid torrent, demolishing everything in its path. As a result, access roads in the area of the race track are still blocked due to the complete or partial destruction of three bridges and erosion of the road surface.
The main entrances to Torrent, Chiva and Cheste are closed due to physical destruction. Confirmation is received every 3 hours from the official rescue service Emergències 112CV (Valencia).

The photographs show that the Ricardo Tormo Circuit itself was not damaged; streams of water passed through the canal literally 200 meters from the main gate of the circuit, destroying the drainage system, destroying the access roads and eroding the circuit adjacent to the circuit, parking lots and part of the paddock. It will take a month, if not more, to restore this infrastructure. Clearing and searching for missing persons is in full swing in the area, which may also take another week or two.
It is impossible to carry out any activities at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in the next 3-4 weeks.
But the assessments of local (independent) specialists directly involved in eliminating the consequences of the flood indicate that a total reconstruction of the infrastructure is required, which will take several months.
