Glaciers worldwide have lost more than nine trillion tons of ice in half a century. What will glaciers look like in the next few decades? “It all depends on what humans do now in terms of greenhouse gas emissions:” This is the message a scientist sent during an expedition led by the European Space Agency to the Gorner Glacier in Switzerland – one of the largest ice masses in the Alps.
